Bookmarks and local storage

BookmarkPilot saves imported X post text, author names and handles, links, dates, media URLs, collections, reading state, and import progress in this Chrome profile. Each X account has a separate library. No BookmarkPilot account or automatic cloud sync is required.

Importing from X

The extension reads posts rendered on X Bookmarks, including History when Bookmarks is selected. It uses your existing X session and checks your account navigation. It does not read passwords, cookies, or login tokens, import Likes, or change your original X bookmarks. Starting or resuming an import from the library opens X and scrolls automatically. The tab must stay open. Imports can be partial; resuming loads from the top and skips duplicates.

Network requests and media

Version 4.1 does not upload bookmark contents or extension usage activity to BookmarkPilot servers and includes no extension usage analytics. With media enabled, profile pictures and images load from pbs.twimg.com. Available video playback loads from video.twimg.com when you choose Play. These services receive normal request information, including your IP address and requested media URL. You can turn media off in Settings. Media files are not saved as offline copies. Opening a post on X is subject to X’s privacy practices.

Backups and removal

CSV exports and JSON backups are downloaded to your device. Backups include posts, collections, and reading state, but no X credentials. They are not encrypted by BookmarkPilot. Restore merges posts without duplicating them and preserves existing local organization on conflicts. Back up before uninstalling the extension, deleting its browser data, or switching devices. BookmarkPilot cannot recover your library from a server. Removing local data does not remove your bookmarks on X or previously exported files.

This website

The website is separate from the extension. It uses Vercel hosting, Web Analytics, and Speed Insights. These services may process page visits, performance information, and ordinary request information to deliver, secure, and measure the website. External fonts, embeds, and links may contact their providers. Their own privacy policies apply. Website measurement is not extension usage tracking.

Support

If you submit the support form, the information you enter, including your name, email, feedback type, and message, is sent to BookmarkPilot’s support service so the maker can respond. If you email support, your email and message are processed by the email services involved. Do not send passwords, login tokens, or private bookmark backups. To ask about or request deletion of support information you sent, email joginder.tanikella@gmail.com. The maker cannot access or delete your local extension library remotely.
